There were so many great memories! In 1988 being part of the first group to ever make it to the Independent A Finals at WGI was the best. Finally getting our steak dinner for a "no drop show". Falling in 1987 WGI was not so fun for me, pretty embarrassing, but... I GOT OVER IT! Traveling to summer Nationals in Houston, New Orleans, Boston, Chicago were always fun. Throwing Val in the pool every year was fun until we missed counted and someone let go early, and she got hurt. "Sorry Val". All day, weekend practices. Doing the "can can" after winning. Penny my best friend in color guard I will never forget you love you, miss you! Battle of the boom boxes on the bus. Dan and Jamie the music men! Our instructors, Val, Dale, Corkie, Tom and Ping for the dedication you gave us thank you. Party's at Janette's house! I'll never forget my 10 yrs in color guard. It was the best experience. I'm married, I have 2 boys. I am working for Lakewood schools and taking some college courses for nursing. I am also in my 2nd year of teaching the flag line at Lutheran West were my oldest son attends. Some things you just don't get out of your system!!!

Bundy, Amber (Saghy)

1983-1993

Too many to count! I loved to perform, travel and spend time with other guard members! After Rangerettes, went on to perform in other color guards and drum corps, teaching on the side. Finished college in Dayton, OH and got a REAL job. Moved back to Cleveland in 2006. Recently got married in 2009. I have a daughter and am currently pregnant with #2!

Burciaga, Jimi

1998-1999

Mrs. Deluca dancing in the gym with all of us. Spice girl routines from Apt. 619 Carla saying "run rapidly into my hand" Michelle Coreno and me singing “Heart Good Bye”! Prom on the bus, on the way to the Florida regional. I currently reside in Dayton Ohio. I marched with the Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps in 1997. I have been dancing with the Dayton School of Ballet. I taught movement with the Scholastic World Miamisburg Winterguard. They won the Bronze medal in 2004 and 2005 at the Winter Guard International World Championships. I currently teach The Kettering Fairmont color guard and work at a credit union full time.

I have vivid memories of so many great times but I think the rock, scissors and paper game I played with Holly Goza was most memorable. Holly, did it taste good? LOL. Other memories include mom Helen in roller skates and her purple muumuu, Kathy Tighe affording me the painful site of her changing her feminine products, and who could forget the shopping cart incident at the armory. Thank you PJ. I'd mention the Rangerette/Sundowner scandal from years past but I wouldn't want to influence any parents’ decision of potential new members from considering joining the group. Oh yeah, I hope your ankle healed ok Stacey. No rest for the wicked as Val would say. Currently, I reside in Long Beach, CA with my partner Jose of 2 years who is an architect. I have been employed by Toyota Motor Sales, USA based in Torrance, CA. for the past 5 years and work as their Dispute Resolution Operations Supervisor. Jose and I love to travel and most recently attended the Gay Games in Chicago. We also recently rescued a 3 year old min pin who we named Thor who brings us lots of joy.

Trying out for "A" Guard and making it! That was when Dale and Corkie were assisting - I was so nervous! I am married to Jim Lamb. We have two daughters (Katie and Meghan) and we live in Strongsville. I found my flag in storage a few days ago - it brought back lots of memories! Now my oldest daughter (Katie who is age 10) has an interest. I'm hoping to get her up to see a practice in the very near future.

There are soooo many but to name one, well it would have to be the year R2 made finals. It was very fulfilling to be able to experience that. I have a home in Old Brooklyn. I work full time as a catering manager at the Cleveland Zoo and I have a dog, Gigi. She found me almost a year ago.

Demas, Nickie

WGI every year! The one I talk about most is being removed from the high school we were staying at because a bomb squad had to come and disarm a bomb that a student had left in the school over the weekend. We lost our spot at nationals because of it.

Rangerettes, 1975 - 1985; Assistant, Independent A Guard, 1987 - 1990; Independent World Guard Assistant, 1991-1992; Wranglers Assistant, 1999 - 2001; Sr. Rangerettes Director, 2002 - 2006

With so many memories, it is hard to pick out just one favorite. I have met many fun and interesting people who have had such an impact on my life. The funniest moment I ever saw in guard was when PJ Napier pushed a shopping cart into a parked tank in the Armory which set off a large alarm. We had to continue practice with the alarm blaring. Val was pretty upset and I couldn't hide my laughter, so she was pretty upset with me even though I had nothing to do with it (thanks PJ). The most embarrassing moment would have to be when my uniform skirt fell off during an outdoor competition at Finnie Stadium. There was nothing I could do so I marched the rest of the show in my tights. When we paraded in front of the stands I at least received a standing O! The guard never let me live it down! I have two children, Matt (20) and Alex (14). I live in North Olmsted, OH. I am a dispatcher and a DJ. I have three cats and still love the color guard activity.

Franks, Angie (Lemonovich)

1988-1990

My most memorable guard moment was when B guard performed to "Proud to be an American" at finals...There wasn't a dry eye in the house! Or was it when B guard beat the pants off Northmont Mirror Image... Both were great!!!!

Goza, Holly

1990-1991

Hello everyone. I'm loving the page. I have wonderful memories of my short time in Rangerettes. The first year (1990), my most prominent memory is of the scratchy netting and sequins we had to wear on our necks...Ouch! Oh, and let's not forget that cool instrumental song we all marched to...so lovely. Weren't we supposed to do a Simon and Garfunkel song that year?? Second year (1991 - DINER!) was awesome. I found my bearings and gained confidence, so it made it easier to adjust to the routine. Let's see, I am still scarred from Garrett's torture on the bus rides, but I wouldn't trade those memories for the world. Candy/Garrett/Kathy, remember setting my a** on fire? And then we had the cockroaches in Florida. Garrett, remember the ping-pong ball game? I have pics of Lorissa, 3gGarrett and I busting out Prince's "When doves cry" and let me tell ya, we were into it! Man, I loved Rangerettes. Way too many memories to recount them all. I miss you guys. I've roamed a bit over time. I worked for the Airlines, so I relocated to LA, Houston, Phili from 2000-2006. I'm back in Cleveland and loving it. I bought my first house in Dec. 2007 which was an exciting moment for me. I recently got engaged to a wonderful man named Ean. The date is set for 10/10/09. And I have a bleeding heart for animals in need - which explains the 4 cats and a dog. Life is good.

Goza, Lisa (Lockhart)

1984-1989

I will have to agree with the majority...it's just too hard to pick a favorite, but here are a couple of memories for your enjoyment. Who remembers staying at the Day care center and marching around playing Little Tykes instruments and reading Dr. Seuss books after inhaling helium? Oh, and PJ, Garrett, Kathy, Kelly, Candy...do you remember dancing through the halls at night singing R-E-S-P-E-C-T while Kelly carried around that big boom box of hers? Of course, PJ's infamous moment at the armory with the shopping cart will go down in history! Good times...good times.... I have been married to Aaron for 7 years, he's from California and I have a 3 year old with curly ears, he's a cocker spaniel named Owen :-)I have worked for Continental Airlines for 13 years and am currently the Executive Assistant for the Staff VP of the CLE Hub. It's a pretty glamorous job and I enjoy every comp I get!

Wow, so many memories, how can you pick just one? Getting new uniforms that didn't have a western theme, 1991 World Class Midwestern Champions, World Finals in 1991, Springfield Rifles, TP Carla's house and not getting caught (she said nobody could without getting caught), summer nationals, sewing parties at Mrs. P's, parties at Mrs. T's, flag sewing at Carla's, summer boot clinics, Niagara Falls, PJ falling during our Chicago performance, practicing with Emerald Marquis, and who can forget the infamous shopping cart incident at the armory? Val, Sal, Carla, Corkie, Dale, Tom, Ping, Charlie, Jim, Hobie, and all of the very talented and dedicated staff that the guard has had. I am currently married and a stay at home mom of two, Jacob, born in 2004 and Jayelle, born in 2006. I assisted the Wranglers from 1993 to 1997 when I took over as director and am still teaching.

Korovich, Jean

1983-1993

There are too many to name just one. The long bus trips, trying to finish homework between practices, PJ and his "blue light special" setting the alarm off at the armory, the bus getting stuck in the snow because the driver thought he could turn around in a field, the bomb squad being called in at the school we were staying at to disarm a bomb, making the finals at WGI, going to Disney, Niagara Falls, meeting new friends, long practices, the bus trips, and all of the staff. I currently live in North Port, Florida with my fiancé Don and two daughters, Ashley (14) and Emily (1). I am a Team Leader in the Credit and Collections Department for a large window and door manufacturer where I have worked for four years.

Using small hotel rooms to get ready and losing our spot at Nationals anyways! I am married w/ 2 wonderful kids, Christian and Paige. I am now back in college finishing my degree in early childhood education. I am also very involved in my church.

Merrill, Ashley

2002-2007

The first year we took gold and beat Southwest Independent. The parents screamed soo loud that when they called Southwest for second place the other people thought that they were with them. I will never forget that Before they would say is the guard ready you would always hear my mom screaming for us to "kick it up a notch". The guard was a great experience. All the sweat and tears were always worth it in the very end. All the long practices and giving up your weekends was okay because at championships all your hard work paid off!!

Moore, Michelle

2005-2006

Winning gold at MEPA championships in 2006. And having absolutely hilarious dinners at RED LOBSTER with Candy, the D’Amico’s and the McNamara’s:) I currently am teaching guard for the St. Mark's flag line, and various other guards in Ohio, I march with the north Royalton high school guard 2006 - current and I spin with Collage Independent Winterguard at this time. I also am contracted to march with Glassmen this season :) Rangerettes was an absolutely amazing starting point in my life, started me off in a great direction to improve my confidence, and leadership skills as well as my guard talents. Without starting in the Rangerette organization I would definitely not be the person I am today. And I am forever grateful for that.

Morrow, Carol

1956-1958

So many - but I guess the trip to Chicago for a month when half of us went. Graduated from UT Austin - Fine Arts. Became a commercial artist in Dallas. Also ran the Baja 1000 in a dune buggy when it ran from Ensada to La Paz - Baja Mexico. Traveled a lot. I still follow sprint and midget car racing in the dirt as much as time and money allows. Also involved with Indoor Soccer and sports cars and family. I really enjoy life.

Just being in Guard! And now I miss it so... I live in Southern California still! I started with House of Blues 7 years ago and moved around working between our Anaheim and Hollywood venues managing the Box Offices. I stepped down a year ago to follow my passion of creative directing and show design. I have done a few small art pieces that have been shown and now I am working to pitch/sell some show ideas and hopefully get a company started! In the meantime...I bartend to pay the bills. I had many wonderful memories in Rangerettes. Winning Nationals is one of the greatest moments ever! I had many wonderful memories in Rangerettes. We always had fun on our trips, but the guard taught me far more than I could have imagined when I was a kid having a good time. The greatest lesson that I have used in life was to not afraid of going out in front of the crowd but learning that everyone was nervous and anxious made it ok, it didn’t stop anyone. I learned to put fear behind me and concentrate on doing the best job possible. All young girls could use this type of experience to build confidence. Can't get rid of them! Does anyone know where Angel Pierce is? I'd love to contact her. I moved to Memphis, TN in 1987 and marched with my HS colorguard and tried to start a Winterguard to perform at basketball games, but it didn't quite make it. The whole experience, you learn so much from belonging to an organization such as this one. I learned respect, pride and following direction from others. I enjoyed the most going to the Drum & Bugle shows and exchanging badges from the different units and of course the cool guys, remember I was much younger then, ha-ha and making many, many friends. I believe that if you have a daughter or relative to encourage then to join. I am married to a wonderful guy with four cats and we still live in the area today.

There are too many favorite guard moments, but winning the WGI Midwest Regional in 1991 (Tom's Diner year) was great. Everytime we stepped onto the floor of competition. Sitting in the front rows and each show learning new trick from Millers...Val giving her all to us every year. Dale, Ping, Charlie, Tom ... Dale's demo of a sabre exchange hitting Penny square in the chest. Weekends at the Lorain Armory. Having 20+ sisters each year. Every bus trip with 20 radio's blarring different music and Kathy B and Beth Klinger-Pace singing Meatloaf. I could go on and on. Currently, I am a Registered Nurse at Ohio State University. I have three children. Allison 18, Zachary 16, and Zane 7 weeks. (Any one who knows me knows I'm crazy). I live in Orient, Ohio, outside of Columubus for now. I have been married for 22 years to Mary's cousin Tim. I still go to WGI yearly with my sister Larissa and my daughter and an occasional winterguard show and an occasional drum corp show.

We were unstoppable! & it was also my last year with the Rangerettes. I'm so proud of how far we all got. Great Job girls & Good Luck to the ones who come after us! Since taking a few years break of winterguard, I began to miss it all! So considering that I graduate this year, I have decided to spin with the North Royalton Winterguard. I am happy to be back in the gym working hard & I am very anxious to see many other guards perform that I haven't seen in about 4 years.
